Employed with the company since 1977. Mr. Maki has a BS in Forest Management and an MS in Forest Economics from Michigan Technological University in Houghton, Michigan. Mr. Maki’s early work experience includes forestry work with the US Forest Service in Minnesota, and four years active duty with the US Navy in Rhode Island, Massachusetts, and Alaska. He worked for 7 years with Procter & Gamble Paper Products Company in various positions in Pennsylvania and Wisconsin, before co-founding Midwest Forest Products Company (formerly Midwest Timber, Inc.) in 1977. He is a board member of the Forest Resources Association, the Great Lakes Forest Alliance, and Trees For Tomorrow. He is a member of the Society of American Foresters, and the Wisconsin-Michigan Timber Producers Association. Mr. Maki was awarded the Forest Resources Association Lake States Forestry Activist Award for 1996. He is a retired Captain, United States Navy Reserve.
A. Eric Maki – President
Employed with the company since 1997. Mr. Maki has a BA in Languages from the University of Minnesota – Minneapolis, and an MBA from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, MN. His previous experience includes sales and marketing activities for the log home industry. Having served in each area of Midwest’s operations, he is currently the Manager of Midwest’s chip mill in Iron River, Wisconsin. He is a member of the Forest Resources Association, has served on advisory panels for Trees for Tomorrow, and is a board member of an Educational Scholarship Foundation in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Jane Fastelin - Chief Financial Officer
Employed with the company since 1984. Ms. Fastelin has a BS in Accounting from Northern Michigan University in Marquette, Michigan. Her previous experience includes employment with the US Forest Service, Nekoosa Papers, and Louisiana-Pacific Corporation. She is the Secretary/Treasurer of the corporation, and has served as the Secretary of the Hayward Sports Center, a non-profit sports facility in Hayward, Wisconsin.
